G.O.C.A. - Global Offset and Countertrade Association

The purpose of the Global Offset and Countertrade Association (G.O.C.A.) is to promote trade and commerce between companies around the world and their foreign customers through a greater understanding of countertrade and offset.

G.O.C.A.:

Offers a forum for companies involved in offset and countertrade to meet.

Provides resources for companies exploring the possibilities offered by countertrade or offset.

Allows its members to understand the requirements or needs of governments that require countertrade, offset, industrial cooperation, industrial benefits, or other forms of reciprocity.

Allows its members to learn how other parties have met or are meeting these requirements.

Offers a forum for its members to meet service providers who may offer cost effective solutions to offset and countertrade needs.

Affords service providers and academics who are associate members an opportunity to meet companies from around the world that need countertrade and offset solutions.

Provides education to the community at large.

Countertrade is listening to your international customers and meeting their needs. This could be in the areas of meeting an offset obligation, providing technology transfer, subcontracting, co-production, investment, marketing assistance, or the generation of hard currency.

Over the past 20 years the G.O.C.A. has grown from less than ten U.S. companies at its inception as the American Countertrade Association (ACA) to over 100 globally based companies engaged in countertrade and offset as the Global Offset and Countertrade Association. The G.O.C.A. has sponsored worldwide meetings focusing on the topics of countertrade and offset. The G.O.C.A. sponsors semi-annual meetings in North America and Europe, often in cooperation with other similar professional associations, where member companies have an opportunity to network and gain further information on countertrade and offset.
